Adolf Rossi (1920–2000) belonged to the generation of the Brno photography scene of the 1950s and 1960s, which was incredibly strong and diverse. He, however, considered himself more of a maverick. Thematically, his work was partly akin to everyday photography. In addition, he was also interested in nature and theater. He created highly stylized photographs that had little in common with the mundane. He presented his work at international photography salons around the world, where he achieved great success.
