In early December, we are hosting our now-traditional calendar launch event, combined with an exhibition.
Curator Lukáš Bártl has prepared a special selection of previously unpublished photographs by Miloš Budík.
The work of Miloš Budík (1935) has already been featured in numerous exhibitions both at home and abroad, where he became renowned as the creator of so-called “everyday photographs.”
He was part of a strong community of Brno-based artists who collaborated from the 1950s onward and founded the Vox group (1965–1972) in the following decade. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the artist’s archive of negatives, providing a slightly different perspective on Budík’s work and revealing him as an immensely versatile photographer and, above all, an outstanding reporter.
Selected works will present his view of the “West,” where he managed to travel several times in the mid-1960s. A representative calendar by Tiskárna Helbich will be published to accompany the exhibition.
The exhibition will be opened by Robert Helbich, Miloš Budík, and curator Lukáš Bártl. Musical accompaniment will be provided by the outstanding jazz musicians Milan Kašuba and Vincenc Kummer.
