Miloš Budík lived and breathed photography. He didn’t separate his life into work and private spheres. With natural intuition and ease, he photographed everything that caught his interest. That’s why it was fascinating to follow the thread of his life intertwining with his work in the book. We did not separate the main text from the “gallery,” but instead interwove all the photographic themes with the era and the narrative about Miloš Budík. The result is a balanced portrait of the photographer, who, whether at the beginning or the end of his career, always maintained high quality and a focused view of the world he observed.

This comprehensive monograph, created for a retrospective triple exhibition, summarizes Budík’s life’s work.
The book was published by the Brno City Museum in collaboration with Tiskárna Helbich and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ostrava.
