A total of 12 artists applied to the Valchařská Gallery’s 2019 Open Call. The expert jury (Dita Pepe, Michal Kalhous, Evžen Sobek, Jan Jindra, Robert Hlebich, and Lukáš Bártl) selected Matěj Skalický. We thank all participants and congratulate Matěj! We look forward to the opening, which will take place on June 11, 2019, at 6 p.m.
For 2019, Galerie Valchařská is announcing an OPEN CALL for a photographic exhibition project. Artists up to 35 years of age may apply with a series of photographs on a theme of their choice. The name of the artist behind the selected project will be published on the gallery’s website by the end of April 2019. In June 2019, the exhibition opening will take place, combined with the launch of a publication created for the exhibition project.
Interested applicants may submit their projects electronically by April 21, 2019, to lukasbartl@seznam.cz (email subject: OPEN CALL). The application must include: a structured CV of the artist, contact information, project title, a synopsis (10–15 sentences), and a portfolio with the relevant collection (PDF).
The project will be selected by April 30, 2019. The exhibition of the winning project will take place in June 2019.
The gallery will provide exhibition space, assistance with installation, organization of the opening reception, an exhibition publication (graphics, texts, printing), and PR activities; the artist will be responsible for producing photographs and prints.
