Eight years ago, young documentary photographer Imrich Veber began intensively documenting the environment at Marian in Opava, a facility providing social services to clients with intellectual or multiple disabilities. At the time, the entire institution was undergoing (and continues to undergo) a transformation and a shift in the concept of social care, which subsequently became the central theme of Veber’s body of work. The result is one of the most interesting documentary series in the Czech Republic over the past twenty years, culminating, among other things, in the publication "Mejdan podle plánu" (Party According to Plan), which will be officially launched on the occasion of the exhibition.
The exhibition will be opened by Imrich Veber, curator Lukáš Bártl, Josef Toldi, and Robert Helbich.
Opening on January 17, 2017, at 6 p.m.; the exhibition will run from January 8, 2017, to May 26, 2017.
