Portraits have been a part of Miroslav Myška’s photographic work since his student days, when he began photographing his friends, mainly from the contemporary art scene. During gatherings and various events, he went on to create documentary portraits of his fellow photographers, visual artists, writers, and musicians. These included both well-known and lesser-known figures from the Czech and international cultural scenes; some of them remain part of the artist’s wide circle of friends to this day. The exhibition features photographers whom Miroslav Myška met at exhibition openings or visited in their studios, with shots from friendly gatherings in various settings and at different times. Most of the photographic portraits were taken as snapshots documenting events he attended; they can also be viewed as reflections or memories.
