Michal Kalhous is one of the most interesting and talked-about artists on the contemporary Czech scene. His photographs are highly original thanks to his thoughtful use of technical imperfection, his distinctive tonality, the size of the final prints, and, ultimately, his choice of shots. Nevertheless, they offer all viewers a kind of fundamental and universally understandable value orientation in this world—a sort of elixir of purity and, in the best sense of the word, ordinariness.
The exhibition will be opened by Robert Helbich and curator Lukáš Bártl in the presence of the artist. Musical accompaniment will be provided by GEN TRIO (a Japanese-Czech string trio).
The exhibition will run from September 26 to November 25, 2018.
